Trunnion Ball Valve, 1. Description of Trunnion Ball Valve: The Trunnion Ball Valve is also called trunnion mounted ball valve. The ball of trunnion ball valve is fixed and it doesn't move with medium pressure. It has floating seats. The seats move with the medium pressure to press the ball against the sealing O-Ring to ensure sealing reliability. Bearing could be mounted on either top shaft or bottom shaft by which it will reduce the operation torque. To ensure tight sealing at low pressures, special springs are applied to force the seats against the ball. 2. Floating Ball Valve, 1. Description of Floating Ball Valve: The floating ball valve is a valve with its ball floating inside the valv body; it drifts to the downstream side and will be tightly pushed against the seat by the medium pressure to ensure a reliable seal. The floating ball valve is a simple design with good sealing performance and relying on the seat material to wthstand the workload since the sealing stress is mainly imposed on the seat rings. Hence floating ball valves are usually used in low and medium pressure ratings. 2.
